Intel Pakistan Recognises Schools and Teachers for Their Technology-Based Learning
Recently, Intel Pakistan arranged an event for Intel Education Awards Ceremony in Islamabad. The programme for the awards in educational excellence was held under the Intel Education Initiative. The awards appreciate the efforts and performances of outstanding schools and teachers all over Pakistan. The awards are held each year. It will be great if the government takes its own responsibility in engaging schools and educationists in this manner.
Under the Intel Teach Program contest, 15 participants won the awards for making better efforts at implementing latest technology to spread inquiry-based learning. Most of the times, students have questions in their minds and are curious to learn more than what their text books offer and what their teachers can help them out with.
It is best to equip students with abilities that technology presents in answering their questions and in quenching their thirst for more knowledge beyond text books. For this to happen, it is important that technology be integrated into the curriculum and learning through it made compulsory so that today’s students can become learned citizens of this society.
It is also an innovative approach to teaching which does not allow students or the teachers to get tired of repetition in what they instruct in classes. It is also an interactive learning and technology facilitates that to happen. Intel Pakistan also trains teachers across Pakistan to help them learn to implement technology and thus provide students with an inquiry-based learning environment and opportunity.
