Pakistani App, Tossdown, Ranked No.1 on the App Store’s Food & Drink Category
Tossdown, a Pakistani app for iPhone and Android devices, tells about great local restaurants in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad. It allows users to share suggestions and find out about good places to eat out. The app-makers recently announced on its official blog about their ranking at number one on the App Store – Food & Drink listings.
Tossdown has thousands of users and through their constant support of the app, it has been able to reach number one in the food and drink category of the App Store. It is very hard to achieve this position knowing that there are so many great apps from other countries, especially from places where world-class and world renowned restaurants are. But to go past them all, ahead at the top proves that Tossdown really is a great app when it comes to locating good restaurants in the major places in Pakistan.
This top ranking will also spread good word about the app and will bring in more users, as well as attract more brands and food businesses to get listed on this app. For those who are gourmets will be pleased to see something “foodie” being recognized and that too from Pakistan.
There are many other Pakistani apps in other categories and with the increased use in smartphones in the country, more apps will not only be developed, but will also see a lot of success. It is relatively easier to get rankings nationally, when there is not much competition and for Tossdown, so far this is the case. Sooner, more food and restaurants related apps of Pakistani origin will come and that would make the competition all the more interesting and use of apps more enjoyable.

Based on 6 ratings? Aren’t we going too far with these kinds of news? It’s good to see someone from the home country at the top but shouldn’t the story also mention when the application was launched and for how long it has been on the top position?
