Saving energy and in the long protecting environment by planting lights that switch off when not required is the kind of energy-efficient technology Pakistan requires. Schneider Electric’s ‘SmartCity’ tools have such technology solutions to save electricity and energy up to 30%. Schneider Electric operates in more than 100 countries and some 230 cities around the world. They are trying to penetrate into newer markets. According to ‘Smart 2020’ report published by Accenture in 2011, smart technologies can reduce global emissions by 15% and save up to US$900 billion per year in energy costs annually.
For such effective solutions, Schneider Electric won the Zayed Future Energy Prize of 2012 and they will be participating in the 6th World Future Energy Summit (WFES) being held from January 15-17, 2013. Goktug Gur is the Country President for UAE, Oman and Pakistan. He believes that:

SmartWater gives smart water solutions to protect against wastage. Smart Public Services gives public safety, healthcare and government administration. Smart Building and Homes gives solutions for planning and optimizing resource consumption and comfortable living.
Pakistan requires such kind of smart energy solutions, which not only produces energy, but also gives better consumption procedures to save electricity and stop wastage of energy resources. If Schneider Electric can do something in this sector in Pakistan, it will be wonderful to companies, factories, industries and even homes switching to such smart energy technology solutions. The customers for such a technology have to show responsibility in saving both environment and energy. This is not about energy production, but it is about better energy consumption.
