Rant : Where are we heading ?
Ok I have been not writing for some time now, the reason being things happening around us, its becoming pretty hard to stay positive and talk about innovation with such gloom every where. We don’t use Green and White for any political or national views, but forgive me once for breaching that code of conduct and using this to get this thing off my chest.
Rant follows the break this is not a technology post so you can skip it if you want.
We as a nation (and it includes me as well) have gone numb, constant lows have taken us to a point where we don’t feel or act on any thing. Few of the things that have effected me and i am sure ever one else is, our sluggish response to floods, the Sialkot incident and the most recent cricket controversy.
We have all reached a state that if some thing does not affect us it is not worth to fight for, there is no sense of working for others helping others. I know people would be shaking their heads maybe saying that they are different let me ask every one, one simple question I know the online community has been very vocal in decrying the Sialkot Incident, just ask your self this question (no need to lie to your own conscience unless we want a sense of false security).
If you were one person standing in that crowd where few (20 or so ) people were beating those two kids what would you have done?
Stopped those people at the risk of your self getting hurt.
Or
Moved away ignoring it like it never happened.
I don’t know about others but for me the honest answer probably would be the second option and i believe most of us might have done the same thing, we would have thought ‘does not involve me why should i risk losing my life for two strangers’.
Same for the Cricket Fiasco, tell me how many of you stop on a red light at 3 am at night ? again i don’t why because there is no Policeman who could punish you, so we only obey the laws if it means breaking it would be punishable. Why the world has starting blaming the 18 year old when we as fully grown adults do it every day, by breaking signals, paying bribes, each one of us if given a chance to earn more by twisting some thing, he might or might not have bowled a no ball, he would have though it does not bring any harm on extra run. To be honest how many of us are truly honest in our daily dealings. Give 150,000 Pounds (That is near to 2 crore rupees)to any one of us (for whom this is a big amount) and ask them to disappear from work for a day without notice, or delay your project by a few days, or maybe hire the second best candidate for the job, answer to your self what you would have done?
if you had turned it down or saved life of two strangers at the risk of your own, I solute you and believe you are one of the few people due to which this country still stands.
For the majority rest of us, we need to stop blaming others, the government and police and look at our selves in the mirror, we don’t need a revolution as many say, we need a soul cleansing, need to set our priorities right, other wise the next victim could be you and me and others will still stand or move away.
