YouTube to host full-length MGM movies
YouTube is expected to announce a new agreement with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayor under which the world’s largest online video portal will be able to host selected shows of the studios.
The deal, which will be announced in a few hours, will enable YouTube to show selected full-length television shows and films from MGM, The New York Times reported.
Some of these are “American Gladiators”, “Bulletproof Monk†and “The Magnificent Seven†and clips from popular movies like “Legally Blonde.â€
The movies/shows will be free to watch, with ads running alongside the video. YouTube is often charged with hosting unauthorized content though in recent months it has tightened its control over pirated footage.
