Motorola to expand Wateen’s network
Wateen Telecom and Motorola entered an agreement to expand the company’s WiMax network in Pakistan, The Post reported Oct. 30.
The agreement, signed on Oct. 29, will enable the company to double the capacity of the network which covers a population of 30 million across 22 cities in Pakistan.
Tariq Malik, CEO Wateen said, “Wateen Telecom was the first company in the world to roll out an 802.16e WiMAX network on a nationwide scale. Today’s announcement confirms our commitment to WiMAX and continued investment in our network to ensure our customers receive the most advanced services using the latest OFDM-based WiMAX solutions. Working with a global leader such as Motorola, we are revolutionizing broadband communications and enriching the lives of consumers in Pakistan.”

I wish they wouldn’t harp on about Wimax as this amazing technology, especially since they’re using Motorola Equipment. The modems constantly disconnect or in a few cases get hacked since they have the same admin passwords. Not to mention they fail repeatedly on speeds above 512K. The rest of the online world is moving towards 55+ Mbps Down / 5Mbps Up and these guys are talking about broadband as if they invented it. Granted those speeds are not yet available on WiMax(Which can theoretically do 35 Mbps Sync), but before they make such grand announcements of expansion, they need to get their act together on what they have already rolled out. Mobilink’s Infinity launch(another mediocre WiMax product) has prompted them to wake up and take notice. This is what you get when a Bank tries to run a technology company.

ACCORDING TO MY VIEW THE COMITMENT WHICH WATEEN DOES WITH ITS’S CUSTUMER IS NOT ACCORDING TO ITS SAYINGS. I THINK WATEEN IS NOT WRONG BUT ITS SALES FORCE IS DAMAGING ITS REPUTATIN ON A HIGHLY WONDERFUL COMPANY.
ITS SALES FORCE IS MISGUIDING THE CUSTOMERS WHICH I THINK IS THE WORST THING.
BYE.
