Great words by EJ Wensing on SocialBridges
Social Bridges was honored today by being profiled at the "All Things Reconsidered" blog at JustMeans, which brings together many of the leading experts on CSR and social development.
EJ Wensing – the founder of EcoSphere – wrote some deep thoughts in his coverage… but before that let me add some context.
In a recent rent-a-coder debate online it was both interesting and a bit disheartening for me to see how quick we can be at becoming defensive, closed up when talking about ourselves, creating a rigid polarity between our culture and another. In situations like that, I wish people would choose the path of embracing differences rather than shutting out others who "arent them".
Keeping this in mind, it was a joy to read EJ’s thoughts on our little initiative:
Perhaps most importantly, besides the effect our engagement in global discussions for CSR can have in fulfilling our responsibilities toward the environment, other cultures and other humans, is that it has the potential to make the world a safer place for all. If what has happened in another Islamic state is any indication (Ignatow, 2008), the engagement and participation in co-creating actions with regard to CSR with other cultures will likely have a profound effect in reducing cultural and religious intolerance within and between countries. And that makes the world a safer place for everybody.
Please visit and participate in the Social Bridges CSR forum.
There are only two choices.
We can let history make us, or we can make history.
Hear hear I say.
Also, join me in giving special applaud to Saad Khan, who’s been doing a pretty killer job of writing deeper commentary and thoughts on CSR.
Also, a special thanks to Telenor, MKRF, ASF and mishal for their support of the initiative.

Thanks a lot for this writeup, Osama. Social Bridges is our little effort in developing some ‘sanity’ about CSR, environment and also sustainable development and we need the support of our countrymen in this regard.
