Nayatel increases tarrifs
Nayatel has increased the tarrifs for home and corporate volume based and unlimited packages. The company cited the rising inflation, economic downturn and a strong dollar as the reason behind the increase.
"We always aim at providing quality broadband and telecom services to our customers at affordable and competitive prices. But over the past few months, there has been a substantial increase in inflation rate, which coupled with hefty appreciation of dollar, rise in cost of fuel and dramatic increase in load shedding, has rendered operation and logistics costs almost unbearable for us."
The 512Kb/6GB home package is now priced at Rs. 1,199 and the unlimited/2048 Kb package is priced at Rs.69,950. The complete rates can be viewed here, here and here.

Why has Nayatel done this? In an age where so many ISPs are LOWERING their prices…they are raising them! Surely this isn’t competitive at all, especially against companies like Link dot NET which surprisingly don’t even have any hidden charges on their packagaes!

Well cost adjustment has to be done…there is no denying that and the cost of bringing bandwidth to Islamabad is also expensive.
However, having said that, I am soo glad the rates in Karachi are very competitive. 2Mbps premium is about Rs. 24,000 from Worldcall, and shared 2Mbps is Rs. 5,200. Both almost ALL the time give full speeds.
