Wateen & its policies!

May 23, 2008 4:58 pm 108 comments

Guess what! Wateen finally sent me their bill. Looks like their billing system is up (not sure though). Whats interesting to know, like its sister concerns Warid & Bank Al-falah, they also have managed to bring hidden charges. I very clearly remember their sales representative (wateen’s, not franchise) hammering it on my head that, I would only be charged Rs. 1350/- Per Month for a 512KB /10GB cap package. And for that I was required to give 11 months post-dated cheques and first month in advance with equipment cost. Now, if you look at exhibit A, they have managed to bring out Rs. 891.50 worth of charges, i’m liable to pay.

Wateen Bill

Its the 3rd billing month and this is the first bill i’m receiving. What’s interesting to note is the line rent for telephone service, their IVR hold music also very clearly announces “telephony services for ZERO line rent!”

I was not yet satisfied with their falsified claims by Wateen’s support staff about why they are charging me Rs. 1350 and every billboard out their announcing that I should be paying Rs. 799/- for the same. Now, they have sent me unjustified bill.

What you guys think about Wateen’s policies? Do we, consumer have any say in this? What we, as consumers can do about it?

People at Wateen, if you are reading this – Please participate in this discussion and enlighten us about your thought process and how you come up with these beautiful packages?

It is a very old saying that the sense of ownership and sense of serving and satisfying the users/customer dwell down from the top. The pathetic and “who cares” sort of attitude we have been experiencing from the lower tier of Wateen’s staff is because of short-sightedness and lack of strategic vision of the top brass.

To me first impression is the last and Wateen has miserably failed to live up to this expectation. They went for quantity and cheap resources and compromised on quality.

I would like to share my experience of totally messed up online service. Since last two weeks I have been following up my complaint for fault in wateen’s telephone service. The fault is that when a caller dials my Wateen number and later disconnects the call then at my end phone keep buzzing. Strange is not it? Ringer of one of my telephone sets has already been damaged because of this fault. This happened while I was away from my home and in my absence not at my home and someone rang at my number and when I reached home I found the bell ringing with an irritating and annoying tone/sound. Later I found that ringer speaker got damaged as it kept buzzing for hours though the other party/caller might have disconnected the phone after a minute but at my end it kept ringing for hours till I reached home.

This fault was originally in the service when I subscribed; I guess three week back but it is still to be rectified by the best of best technical team or engineers of Wateen!!!!

Today I again contacted their help line and ask for status and receive reply we have referred the matter to our technical team with underlying message “Don’t disturb us we are in total “Thaund Program”.

So I am going to put widened agenda before the present Government: Impeachment, Restoration of judiciary, Get my telephone fault rectified!!!!!

  • Wateen and IBM – Why shake hands?

Folks, does anyone know about the latest offers being provided by Wateen? I heard they signed an agreement with IBM and being provided with some more integrity. Well, I don’t know much about it but just read about it on a blog. But I can’t get it. Can anyone help me out? Why Wateen is shaking hands with IBM and what are going to be the advantages?

  • Asad-u-Rehman

Progress? I don’t think so. Make it trillions but wateen’s customer services need replacement. Change wont’ do any good. I’m happy with PTCL. It is not wireless but it works

  • Lol. So am I. But not with PTCL, with Wateen. I haven’t seen any flaws in customer care services. They provide with direct contact with high officials.. I haven’t called at Wateen more than a few times, but the few times when I did, the experience wasn’t bad.

  • Guys, any1 noes abt wateen-intel carnival to promote technology? Dats so much in news dese days but I havnt been able to get any details. Da last I herd is they are on dere way to lhr. Final shot i gues. So wat dis carnival luks lyk? Any1 who noes, can raise his hand

  • Yea, I know abt it. I wudn’t ve known if I hadn’t gone to sindbad with weeks ago. It was probably their first day of the carnival and they organized it in Sindbad. Wateen featured its wireless services and online gaming and intel with its same pcs and stuff that we all know of. I liked their online gaming stalss and stuff. They show was for general public and that is why they have formatted their plans in simple and audible manners. Emmm, it was nice. New idea and fun for kids… That’s what happened that day. And I heard about other cities they are going to but don’t exactly remember the names.

  • Wateen Support Person Cell number:

a month later i figure out my account was hacked and it was being used by someone else and this problem didn’t get solved till like 2 months my god damn password kept on changing when ever i needed to login and then i had to call the boring helpline with that ridiculous song going on EVERYDAY ATLEAST 6 TIMES IN THE DAY coz tat other guy was using my account n somehow he use to reset n change my password n when i tell another wateen representive he says its impossible he needs ur nic no and yap yap yap in the end i was gona refund the product coz the problem wasnt getting solved and then they showed logging against the mac address and it totaly proved someone else was using my account n the solution they picked up was to convert me to prepaid

    so lets calculate here hmm

    18000

  • Dear Sister Sara,

I like your positive attitude and frankly we should be thankful for what we have, but if there is a problem we should vent it out. Keep saying all is good is like burying your head in the sand or closing your eyes like a pigeon is not the solution.

I have ranted a lot at:
    http://greenwhite.org/2008/03/26/wateen-ummm-this-is-what-happens-when-you-hit-a-nerve-in-new-media/

Here is my beef, I was very skeptical of Wateen’s service from the time I heard. I know it had failed in San Francisco where it was being offered for free. Not failed as in they stopped but failed as in it didn’t get the attention it anticipated.

Anyways the problem with Wateen is extremely and highly inexperienced Support, I highly doubt if they know the word exists. They know their service has problems yet they do nothing about compensating customers.

There is no concept of customer satisfaction in Pakistan, no where. Wateen is no exception. When I got the connection couple of months back I was told that I can change the package anytime. Despite the fact that I was extremely pissed of somehow my 10GB expiring before even the month was over:
1- I could not change the plan and the Franchise insisted that if I call CS I can change the plan. CS told me flat out “NO”. I spent over 30 minutes and got a Supervisor or Manager on the line and they said its not possible. I am in the IT industry I know its only a small script and will take no more than 3 hours to configure and implement. Maybe I am exaggerating here a little bit. 3 and a half hours, I guess.

2- Prepaid plan means, when your balance ends you can re-charge. Not with wateen, if you use your limit before you “billing cycle” is over then you are charged Rs 35/100mb and then you can recharge.

3- When you call their 111 number it hardly connects considering if your CPE is working. If you call 1236 number same thing. After 7-8 minutes of music the call drops. I solved that problem, Try English and you can talk in Urdu, they prefer English speaking customers as they are either professional, foreigners or polite people somehow, maybe some locals unable to explain (means: curse) the problem.

4- About the download limit: My business is all about net, review of sites, products, software etc I have to download a lot sometimes GBs of data.

I know I know… I can always get PTCL land line and get regular DSL. I am just waiting for our favorite company to install one 7-10 days have turned into almost 2 months. Talk about customer service, yeah!!!

Well keep your positive thinking high, hey I am still using Wateen and Alive thats the power of positive thinking.

  • @Dishurted
It doesn’t make sense. Why would a wateen representative abuse his customers? Its hard to swallow. I agree with Junkie, I think. Its just another bogus story. Won’t work here.
    u5aman4,
you are exaggerating here. I too have been using Wateen and I did face a few problems but not the way you are trying to express here. You are not 14, I can see that and everyone else on the blog can see that as well. And what did you say: trashing a CPE!? Lol. Buddy, What does that prove? And why should we wait for your video lol. Its total professional, I tell you.
You are being paid well. Hmm? May be not. But things aren’t the way as you have described.

  • @sara
=x who makes the fony rules here abt what goes n what doesnt….ofc im 14 wth wod i wana lie =x i study in city school class9….:@ yes i will trash my cpe as soon as i get micronet broadband …what it wil prove is alot to me and to the eyes of ppl who hate wateen…

  • Hey,,, Common U5man4,

i dont hate wateen, whatever you say.. but atleast you can’t say that we hate wateen. its ture that there customer services are not up to mark. but the service they are offering are upto standard. i liv in defence, i ave both worldcall and Wateen tripple play.. it never happens that when it rains. my service is down. my services are never down from the day i have bought wateen’x services. but its the other way with Worldcall.

Wateen’s only problem right now is that they dont have a solid CRM ( Customers Relations Management ). in which they track histroy and alter the packages according to the Customers need.

    I hope, no Offense.

    Regards
    ..Nab

  • Ok Guys,

For those who want to know what customer service is, check this out. Although the customer probably was wrong, here is how a “corporate company” handled it.

    http://gmy.news.yahoo.com/v/9633993

  • dude do u knw wat they r sayn my 12500 rs loss they are saying that they can’t do anything abt it…i mean wht the hell i shd hav sticked to micronet broadband -_-

  • Its not that way.. I’ll try to call Wateen call center and let you know about the details. There must be some misunderstanding and your money is not going like that anyway. I’ll tell you when Im done.

  • Guys,

I have recently had a very bad experience with Wateen:

Few days ago, Wateen disconnected my Internet [although, telephone service had already been taken from the month of May].I went to Wateen Franchise and was shocked to learn that I have been billed for 15000/=(Fifteen thousand rupees)for extra 30GB usage.

    I am a user of 512Kbps (10GB), 1350 per month.
I contacted the Wateen support staff and told them that there is no way I have used this much of GBs and I was aware of my limits from the very beginning. They filed my complaint and assured that there is some dispute that we see here and you will be notified shortly with our findings.

After couple of days, I contacted Wateen again and the lady told me that the bill is verified and “Correct” and you have been contacted several times to notify our findings but you didn’t pick-up. A Big Fat Lie! I never received a call on either my cell-phone or land-line. I have filed another complaint against this bill and also talked to their Shift-Supervisor but I am not hoping to get this thing solved as Wateen is a bunch of Thugs sucking the blood of its customers. I am also going to file the complaint to its CEO and PTA.

    As rightly said, “Wateen Disconnect!”

    F.S.D

  • Hi evryone

hope u all r well, although i don’t have a Wateen connection n any experience with its service but i don’t think so k such a big company like wateen can provide such a bad service, there must be some problem, may b they are working on their network system as i have heard that they r under upgration process. so i think v shud w8 n let thm complete their operations.. i hope after that v wil get something beter 4m Wateen..

  • Dear Sister Maria,

See we all know Wateen is a big company. The problem is their customer support or follow up of any kind to fix the problems they have. For example, and I am repeating this: I was told that I can switch my package at any time by their sales rep at their franchise office. After first month I decided to change. I was told still at the franchise office that I can do it from logging into my account at prepaid.wateen.net. They have an option “Change your plan” You click it, it gives you option of all the prepaids to select from. Once you do, it gives you an error saying “Conatact customer service” When I talked to them they said, sorry you cannot change your package. I spend over 30 mins on my cell phone (because their own phone was not working, another problem) talked to a “manager” and he said that we are working on it and will be done by next month that was in about 2 weeks. I am in fourth month now and you cannot still change your plan.

Y’day I was visited by someone from Wateen for the first time to do a survey. Not because of all the complaints I made. I was pissed, of course I made it clear to that poor kid that I am not upset at him but at the idiot management and the company. He said “sir you CPE (the router) has old firmware, they should have updated it when they gave you the router”. One of my problem was disconnetivity as I’d see few bars of signal strength. When the firmware was updated I get 90+% bars. I was happy. But I still have disconnectivity problem. Last night my router just kept searching for signal for 15 minutes and that was the first time I used it after being “fixed”.

It was some improvement but… after a very freaking long time, and their customer service still has no idea what “customer” or word “service” mean. Mal-trained, improfessional, completely careless. I call in to report Net problem they call back to confirm if my phone is working ok????????

But I am happy as a gopher with my teeth sticking out.. no matter what its our country and we have to support these big corporate and these idiot leaders we have no matter what… and keep paying high prices and low service quality….

long live pakistan, who cares about islam…

  • I have both Wateen and PTCL, and I have also mysteriously been shifted and downgraded from the original upgrade (I also opted for the 18k package, was upgraded from 512k to 1024k, and now have been downgraded back to 512). Apparently, customers were supposed to have the option of getting their remaining money back…whatever happened to that? Instead, I have a balance left on this prepaid connection type thingamajig. Wateen sucks. Badly.

PTCL, on the other hand, has been performing brilliantly. I was among the early birds that had the connection and then was upgraded from the original 512k to 1024k, and with a wireless router, things are gooood. Not so much for Wateen, though. If you’re thinking about it, don’t get it.

  • Mazhar Abbasi

I am using wateen from April 2007. I live in rented home and can’t take PTCL or any other DSL. I choose to get Wateen for mobility. Service is just fine but when I got first bill after three months they come up with some hidden charges.

Now they have forcefully changed my package from postpaid to prepaid and increased my monthly charges from 1350 to about 1600 for the same package (10gb + 270 phone line rent). When I call them to downgrade my package so I can pay less as other prepaid customers are doing then they say it is not allowed yet. I have to wait and I am waiting from last three months.

  • Sorry Brother Mazhar,

I feel for you, and I am in the same boat as you are. It has been 3 months I was told I will be able to downgrade and I still cannot. Wateen is really pushing the limits when it comes to taking care of the customers. My hats off to all those who are survivors (including myself of course :-D )…

May Allah keep us from the “shar” these corporate companies…

  • TranceGrooves

Wateen has a new GM customer service Omer Shah. He has brought significant changes in the set up of Wateen including a new and improved complaints handling procedure. I had a pending problem of my device not catching proper signals and every time i called help line they told me they could not do anything for me as i lay in poor signal area. So after months and months of complaining on help line i finally heard about the GM from a friend and sent a email at customerservice@wateen.com. My problem was resolved within 2 weeks as the techinician who visited me found out that the device was actually faulty. Now the services are woking perfectly and i thought i would share it with you all.

There is a new department called Dispute Resolution Unit in Wateen customer service. They are the ones who helped me resolve the issue so i encourage anyone who is in similar position as i was to just send a email to customerservice@wateen.com. By the way “when working” Wateen is the best.

  • Zubair Uddin Khan

Ah, i am an other victim of wateen’s poor help service. Did u notice that they always took 48 hours for all minor or major problems. But i do remember that i had registered numeroulsy comlains, but their technicians hardly visted 2 or three times.
Now they forcefully changed my package into PREPAID package and returned me remaining 6 undeposited cheques. Since i am trying to connect prepaid.wateen.net to recharge my account but i couldn’t succeed. another weasel company.

  • I have been nagging and bad mouthing wateen for a long time but I must agree with that there are changes. Few days ago I got a call from someone regarding Wateen. The kid said he wanted to do a survey. I vented a little bit on him and also made clear that I am not mad at “him” but his company. That brave little fellow did show up.

He checked the area, connectivity and equipment. I had some guests so I had to leave him work on the stuff. After few minutes he called me and told me that the firmware on the CPE was old. I asked him how old, he said it seems like from the days Wateen started operation. BIG JOKE on part of sales people who sold me the stuff. Anyways I was getting 90%+ bars on the CPE as compared to under 20%. The performance and connectivity problem however is still there.

I gave him my comments and told him “Wateen Sucks” on the official form and Wateen has no clue of Customer Service. Also mentioned Green & White and showed him my comments.

I do wish Wateen well and specially the poor souls like me who get terrible speed most of the times. like just now my YM got disconnected and I was downloading a 3MB file from a friend regarding a project we are working on, so that is screwed again.

My Best to all!!!! and Happy belated Eid…

BTW when I was done typing this Wateen was already disconnected :-) so I saved my efforts of typing this long message in NotePad will submit later inshaAllah.

  • @mehmood:
It seems that ur aim is to write bad about Wateen, doesn’t mater Wateen is doing write or wrong. That’s why u keep the record of these comments to show the people by whom u r hired to do this job…well keep it up…but I think thousands of people are using Wateen and there are very few complains as compared to the number of users, which shows that Wateen is providing a satisfactory service to its customers. As for as the minor problems like disconnectivity are concerned so this is a very common issue with every broadband service.. In the case of Wateen its very rare.. take ur example u r an active blogger but u never complained that Wateen got DC while writing a blog this is the first time happened with u… so don’t blame Wateen try to be honest…

    @ mazhar and zubair:

Hi. Whats wrong with u people?? How can a company forcefully change ur package without ur permission… Oh come on… I do not think that such a big company like Wateen can do these silly actions…

  • @Mazhar Abbasi
    Hello,
I completely agree with you wateen service is very fine. As far as billing issue is concern hopefully after some time they will down their charges but you see k wimax technology latest in Pakistan & You have to think about it “How can they provide excellent service in law prices?” I think you should prefer good performance
Wateen’s management is trying to do some thing unique for satisfying their customers & also upgrade their service.

  • @Maria and Sana.

Is wateen paying you to give them good reviews? Organisations usually do that to clear their name.

Anyway I have been using Wateen for quite some time and continue to do so till such time they don’t return my signed cheques. Hopefully or rather luckily I live in that part of Lahore where the indoor unit is giving me better performance than an outdoor one. I have no major complaints with the service but I know plenty of people who do and this is not just on word of mouth but on actually seeing there problems.

The worst thing about wateen has been their customer service, especially their salesmen who do not know what they are selling, what is unique about the technology and what sort of issues there might be. I happened to ask them a couple of technical questions upon installation and they had no clue. Moreover, they said that I would have 512kbps dedicated speed, only later to find that its the frikkin burst speed varying from 64 to 512, I was definitely better off with worldcall.

Being in the IT Products and Services field I know what things are prime to get rave reviews of your Services and Products. Wateen has so far not focussed on any of those. You see Pakistan is just a test bud for them to stabilize their services so that they can move on else where. Pakistan was chosen because people here, majority, don’t know what their consumer rights are. Had they done this abroad some one would have sued them and taken them to the cleaners.

Recently they changed my postpaid package to prepaid, since it was in their policy to do so and claimed to return all my remaining cheques. This was 3 months ago. My package changed one fine day and I had to call them up for my new credentials (whose password i have yet to change because wateen just does not let you to do so). I am still waiting for my cheques.

“law prices” (quite the opposite) and “silly actions” have been the norm with wateen, I think its about time they accept their follies and repay their customers!

  • See I don’t disagree with Sister Maria and Sister Sana. I am, as you have said, writing bad things about wateen. This is how you have looked at it.

What my intentions or purpose is to state the fact as it has exactly happened to me. Fortunately, I have lived out of the country and have experience “Customer Service” and “the service” both.

If you read my comments on the other blog (posted here on this site about wateen) I have clearly stated that WiMax is not a very successful technology and could not make a huge success in a country like US.

I apologize if me telling the truth has offended you. And my dear Sister Maria, I do not have to save the comment to show to anyone its posted online here on the blog my “proposed” employer can come online and see what I have been doing. Also they did not pay me enough, otherwise I would mention there name that XYZ DSL is much better than Wateen (believe me I intended all the pun here), if you know what I mean.

I am not questioning your honesty that you being hired by any company/wateen to counter write about my comments. I believe you are getting excellent service I am just stating how things are going with me, if some likes wateen good for them, if they take my example and stay away from wateen, even better. But I am not twisting nobody’s arm to either buy or not to buy any service whatsoever.

Thank you much for your precious time you took to read and respond to my email.

    Best Regards to All…

  • It is funny to see people point out that is Wateen paying you to give good reviews while ignoring the fact that door swings both ways. Are other companies paying people to give bad reviews?? hmmm something to think about.

Mr Mahmood … customer service & the service in countries like US is something we cannot even imagine in Pakistan. Simple reason is the mentality and education level. Try satisfying a customer who will not listen to anything you say and will only demand something which is totally out of normal procedures of a company. Customers of that sort are far more in quantity here in Pakistan. I really am not fond of people who keep comparing Pakistan to other countries (no offence Mehmood). Other countries do not have problems like load shedding, corrpution at lowest level of government and private sector. I doubt any of you go on forums of WAPDA and raise hell.

Anyways this discussion can continue for days and weeks. If people are really that dissatisfied with a company, leave it. I was fed up with Mobilink and World call. I left both and have never been happier with my current service providers. Now please do understand that i do come across problems here and there such as internet service distruption by Wateen but i always log a complaint through proper channels and it always gets addressed. That makes me happy.

  • Dear TranceGrooves,

I completely agree with what you have said and suggested as a solution. Believe me I would have switched if I had any other option. I am not a regular “bitcher” (pardon my language) about bad service and customer service.

I don’t even know if any WAPDA “bitching” forum exists. The only reason I shared my view/problems is because people have asked for recomedation.

I understand that Wateen is trying to improve and have made significant changes but it is not at par with the stature of the company. I did not intend to compare any other country here, just gave an example. If you read all my comments on GreenWhite, I have been simple stating the problems I am facing and my opinion. I sincerely apologize if it has offended anyone.

I have a huge list of unprofessional answers and responses to my simple queries. Anyways, I will close down this chapter on my part now. Good Luck for people with and without Wateen. All the best!

  • @ Mahmood
    Hello,
Yes, I agree wateen is improving their service. We should consider wateen’s effort towards wimax technology in Pakistan, as it’s a big step. And just in case you really want to get your problem solved, here is a place you simply send in an inquiry “customerservice@wateen.com”
InshahAllah You will be more satisfied

  • Hi Dear Friends,

After reading all the comments, I have decided to open a separate website for WATEENE (PEOPLE WHO HAVE WATEEN CONNECTION) . I have registered two websites for this purpose http://www.wateeni.com and http://www.wateene.com . Kindly tell me any idea about the website so that I may design accordingly. You can email me on mfawadpk@gmail.com or fawad@apnagujrat.com .

    Thanks.

    Muhammad Fawad

  • I had taken some time off from this forum. Right after my last comment on 20th October there are two comments posted by Hira and Sunia. It is very strange that both comments are exactly identically and posted within 2 minutes interval.

Now we can see who is getting paid to write for/against Wateen.

Thank you for your robotic suggestion of writing to CustomerService@wateen.net, I did already and this is the response I got. I will quote the exact email here:

    From: Aneel.Butt/Wateen/Lahore [mailto:Aneel.Butt@wateen.com]

Subject: Out of Office AutoReply: Connection problem

    I am out of office until August 6th 2008 with no access to emails. In my absence please contact;

    For Correspondence concerns – zafar.chouhan@wateen.com

Now if you have ever, ever written to any sound company’s CS you will never ever get an answer like that. Maybe something like expect an answer with 3 days, 1 week or so but not like this, this was the first time I have ever seen this.

  • wateen is offering the most pathetic service that can be,slow download slow browising simply pathetic, every one should go for wired DSL than wateen any day,its a personnel experience.

  • I have been using wimax since last september at least. it is true that the service is not like something that i enjoyed in states or any oher developed world but it’s pretty aight! to me it’s better than comsats or ptcl or linkdot net etc etc……besides there are problems with all the operators in pakistan. i am sittinf out of indoor and out door coverage area but still services are good. at times the speed does go down but for the most part it’s good and the service is reliable. at least i don’t have to hear the comsats guy say that my dsl is not working cause of the messed up ptcl line ….my voip telepony is also working good and most importantly it’s a hell lot cheaper than the ptcl landline with a crystal clear voice. yeah wateen sucks and it sucks cause the company is too slow to bring out the remainin products in the market. set aside the rest i don’t see any problem with the internet n the fone. peace

  • Unfortunately I think I can count my nick with with few users who are truly against Wateen Wimax, their service sucks big time, from the day one I am facing serious problems with Wateen services,Wimax by Wateen has been a total slap in the face of all the enthusiasts (including myself.I am using its services in abbottabad and by GOD I never ever got the downloading speed above 20KB/sec on 1MB package.I have complained them thousand of times but all in vain.On daily basis a techinal staff team member comes to my house and check the damn thing,he always say your values of CPE are excellent,I think we are having problems from backend..
Their Manager in Abbottabad branch says that yeah we are having some optic fibre problem..they are simply lying.. they took a huge upfront amount from me ,since JUNE 2008 I am facing terribly slow downloads…No issue in the AP..nothing… I check the service in whole city, even the speed sucks in Wateen francise in Abbottabad.
So the bottom line is these freaking chimpmucks have cut the bandwidth in most of the cities…these brats have taken money from us ,looted us,sucked our bloods and return they are providing us 3rd class service.. Where the hell should I complain?I am tired

  • Ok, my regular ranting folks. I have to appreciate what Wateen is doing. They are making an effort to improve their CS. I sent them an email about SelfCare Portal (unable to login). I got a professional email response. Than a phone call resolving the issue. Bravo Wateen! Keep it up we will be very proud of you…

BUT…. (here he goes again dogging)
I sent an email with disappointment on another subject. Here is the email I sent to Wateen:

    Dear Wateen CS,

First of all congratulations on improving your CS and adding more professional aptitude and response towards uses issues. I am impressed by the latest resolution of the issue I had.

However, after logging in to the Dashboard (much better than prepaid portal, congrats!). I am disappointed in Wateen’s honesty about charging customers. Here is my beef:
For last 3 billing cycles i did not even go over 2GB out of my 10GB limit. I did not get any credit or benefit of that. But My first billing cycle when my limit was reached Wateen started charging my instantly without any warning

Please do not think that I am a regular bitching type that always complain about things. Its because of us “bitcher” raising these issue you get a chance to improve your service.

I suggest that either you provide Unlimited Downloads, with a warning of using excess like 20-50GB in a billing cycle. Or at least provide roll-over for unused cap.

Looking forward to a positive response. Thank you so much.

For those who are paying me to write these things please not this down, I want a bigger paycheck this time…

    Laters..

  • how i can forward the ports on wateen service.plzzzzzzzzzz explain me early. thanks

  • Hi,
now i get the chance to tell every body that Wateen block my connection on 19 of every month on completion of a month. i launched complaint to them that wat is this stupidity, u r treating your clients as thieves who will run away as u block the connection. but all in vain

  • well i have both Wateen and PTCL and but now a days when Wateen improved as per they told me…now.. wateen internet speed is faster then ptcl..no doubt abt it..
    and reliable …PEace Out!

  • Muslim Hassan

Well …iv heard a lot in here! Wateen has made it so fu**in complicated that i wanted to upgrade my account to vUnlimited! it would have been upgraded one day before my billing date but there was no network or what-so-ever server was down with some pathans whatever! so i came back home and the very next day i called helpline 111-365-111 to guide me thru this.. now i wud have to pay them MY PREVIOUS BALANCE -900PKR which isnt my fault as i went to franchise and their service ws dead and 1617PKR for their package vUNLIMITED 1mbps(hope so)
so total id been paying 2517PKR now to change it …what the hell! is it an electricity bill or 1mb connection… ptcl EVDO is far better its UNLIMITED , 3.1mbps, and PORTABLE…i’ll dump wateen AS SOON I GET MY HARD EARNED MONEY this month u hear me?????!
    So long wateen!

Business Incubation: False Hopes and Shattered Dreams…

When a 19th century romantic French writer by the name of Victor Hugo said “Nothing is as powerful as an idea whose time has come” he obviously could not envision Pakistani bureaucracy. Not only can it reduce an idea to nothing more than its meager skeletal remains squirming in its own vile, it too often does.

Come 2004, the IT bubble is about to burst in a military run, democratic, American influenced politically independent subcontinent country by the name of Pakistan. It is here in our story that along comes an idea. It is a simple idea yet revolutionary in every way, the idea to prepare this country for the…

    Home & Cars Expo 2012

The past whole week I was really excited about going to the exhibition on 5th and 6th at expo center Lahore since the theme read “home expo and super car expo”. I was counting on seeing some innovative home solutions, fancy cars and a lot of appliances for both. As I entered the arena, an ear piercing heavy bike engine race greeted me. Oh wow nice, we have bikes here too… and lots of them, but let’s see if we have the actual products that are expected.

First cars!! Honda Launched its new City Aspire at the event. This attracted a lot of young crowd who wanted to check it…

NOTE: This is a sponsored post

Football. The most popular sport in the world. That may be hard to believe, we being a die-hard cricket nation, but there are many amongst us who get their blood pumping whenever our favorite team kicks some balls (pun intended).  There’s excitement in the air, and the airwaves for that matter, when Spanish rivals Real Madrid and Barcelona are about to have a face-off on the field. Manchester United or Chelsea? The answer could incite either jeers or cheers, depending on who you’re surrounded by. It feels like you belong to an exclusive club really, not to mention how convenient it is to…

    Another SHAM ICT Funding Project

There are two main things that are currently causing out growth in ICT to stall. One is the lack of original ideas, so most of the entrepreneurs either copy what is already around internationally or locally (same ideas of online shopping, online bidding) we still have not hit the jackpot with someone creating some thing like instagram or drawsomething and being acquired by one of the big names.

The second issue always lamented by entrepreneurs is lack of any funding sources in Pakistan. Over the years we have seen efforts being made to create funds which would help but what ended happening that most of these funds either did…

    8th Layer of Networking

We all know about the 7 layers of the OSI model. This is the framework by which computer networks are defined. Starting with the physical layer, going through the transport layer and finally culminating in the application layer where end user applications reside. I believe that this should be redefined to include and additional layer – the Social Layer. From the current vantage point, the Social Layer lies right above the Application layer – hence it is served by the Application layer.

The 90s witnessed a boom in what is now referred to as web 1.0. This consisted of static applications hosted over the web. Static applications meant that…

Carumba! has been designed and developed by TenPearls’ innovation labs. Thiel Fellowship: right idea, wrong approach

I wanted to discuss the Thiel Fellowship and sort of run the idea among our readership to figure out if it was justified or not. Bay Area hedge fund manager Peter Thiel started a Fellowship program in his name about a year ago trying to capitalize not on start ups, but the smart kids who may actually come up with the next billion dollar idea.

Let there be no mistake. Innovation solves problems. Bankers, lawyers and hot shot executives are good for only one thing: managing an existing infrastructure. It is the innovators who turn existing ideas on to their heads and enable breakthroughs. Considering the point above, it…
