Haris and Zigron’s team made a very bold and risky move to create a "fun product" PingMyCompany.com, where people can leave anonymous good or bad comments about companies.
Very very risky – people abroad would welcome the idea and respond positively but local companies are likely to miss the joke and try to put some pressure on Zigron.
To be fair – there is likely to be a lot of libel; defamation concerns surrounding this site – right now atleast it seems to be just too easy to go out and pretend to be 50 people who hate a company.
But still – risky marketing also has a good chance of paying off — I have a feeling Zigron’s about to become the talk of the town, for one way or another.
Interesting move Haris! Let’s see how this plays out – whats your thoughts on it? Would you like to see your firm on this?

Apart from the fun element, I was also very interested to see what people think about us and other firms. You maybe right that this might be too early for Pakistan market but heah someday we need to make the leap.
I learned alot about Zigron from your last post comments as we never get the chance to hear from people who dont end up joining us. So hopefully with PingMyCompany.com companies will learn from what people think about them.

The day before yesterday I visit to my old company. I had a conversation with my old colleagues and they share some very interesting
comments about the company.
Personally I think company should welcome this idea because It will help them improve.People who wanted to join the company will get the better idea about the company.

If the site is just about bickering, then it won’t be taken seriously by anyone more than a coffee morning between desperate house wives.
However, if they add features that ensure all the opinions that are backed by research and corroborated by evidence, it can create a more responsible outlook which people might find more useful.

PingMyCompany.com is the excellent idea. Although our market is not much mature and so many peoples deal business as ownership of anything.

@Shafiq: there seem to be some strange conflict with IPs from Pakistan. Sorry for the issue, hopefully it will be fixed shortly.
@Asim: For starters we just started it as a fun project which we put up in few days but based on response and suggestions we might take it to a serious level. We are planning few new features

Its funny that it got black-listed on PTCL. I have few friends there so I will check about it, maybe they are culprits
But I got to say one thing that this could be one of the fastest things PTCL ever pulled off as we were launched just 2 days back

Good idea and i think after the initial fun phase, should move to some serious implementation stage. For this, the wikipedia approach may be used to edit or post comments about a particular company, like a person who has actually worked for the company should have access to post/edit information about that company.
but i really feel the demand of this thing but with some solid information hub

Its amazing how things are happening as it seems “PingMyCompany.com” is banned in Pakistan. Our domain is acting strange and now its not even accessible from our office in Isb.
Anyway for now you can access it at “PingMyCompany.net”
