Green & White as high traffic as Brightspyre? Why analytics is like watching the clouds
Hmm…. I didnt realize our traffic competed with Brightspyre’s
Compare that to:
Now, it is fairly well known that Alexa is pretty much useless at traffic rankings – it even claied once that Youtube was getting more traffic than the Google.com homepage! Besides that, its algorithm is biased based on how many readers use the Alexa toolbar (if you want to help boost G&W’s traffic, install the Alexa toolbar) And although Compete.com still has some credibility, I think Analytics are pretty much like looking at the clouds (as someone mentioned to me)… you can see whatever shape you want to see when you look at a cloud. Want to see horses? You’ll see em. Brightspyre might use alexa if they ever want to compete against G&W, but might discredit alexa when competing against Rozee.
The truth is, no one can ever really know which of Green & White, Brightspyre and Rozee has more traffic.
Venture Capitalist Brad Feld also has a similar observation on RSS feeds. When can analytics and "unique visitor" claims stop? I’ll write later on what analytics should be based on.

Hi,
Well what about Google analytics, I am using it for my blog but as it has very low traffic I am pretty much satisfied with it. But yes it don’t have a nice comparison feature, well they added a benchmarking feature which compare your site with similar sites.

Alexa is spinning the decision as a step forward without admitting to previous flaws:
“Your ranking wasn’t wrong before, but it was different. Alexa toolbar users’ interests and surfing habits could differ from those of the general population in a number of ways, and we described some of those possible differences on our website. While the vast majority of sites’ rankings were unaffected by such differences, we’ve worked hard on our new ranking system to adjust for situations in which they could matter. The new rankings should better reflect the interests and surfing habits of the broader population of Web users.”

Alexa announced that they have overhauled their ranking system.

There are chances that through the new ranking system most of the IT websites/blogs will go down on Alexa ranking.

Osama,
Compete only displays US visitors stats. Compete is the best source to track US visitors. But it does not tell a global trend.
