PTCL Launches Broadband Entertainment Portal – gets closer to Triple-Play

PTCL has made some interesting moves that the amazing community at Telecom Grid Pakistan has been discussing.
First has been a recent announcement via Dawn and other papers that starting from March they will be reducing their broadband charges significantly – Rs.2k for 1Mbps and Rs.5k for 2Mbps.
These are very competitive rates. In our experience with PTCL Broadband, if you can choose to look past the poor customer service and lack of support for small businesses (static IPs etc.) the actual service quality is pretty good. Added to that a good price point and this should be a very nice choice for people whose phone lines can support 2mbps connections etc.
Now they’ve announced the launch of a Broadband Entertainment Portal which gives access to music, movies, sports and more free of cost to PTCL Broadband subscribers.
It seems like the company is picking up, but I’d like to see their triple-play plans to be implemented soon – those plans are quite disruptive.

i got installed Broad Band on phone 2780759, with COE Serial no.2477074938624,Registration no.20812050292088,Broad band is not working, written message comes ” u are using proxy server, i cant use internet.Made complaint to Mr. sajjad,who installed the broad band at my residence,Pl. send some one to solve this problem.> hassan shaikh

Guys the fact is Lucks ive used LinkDotNet mch better than LinkDotNet…its 256k connection is more satisfying than LinkDotNet 512k,trust me!! im regretting because i disconnected my PTCL connection

Awesome PTCL doubled the speeds after 23rd Mach, 512k now gone to 1Mbps. Enjoying it at 100 kbps download and pretty stable service!

i ordered a 2mb package a month ago which was to b shared between mine and another system..i have been patiently waiting and have gotten no results..cal anybody explain the pros and cons of this service + has anybody tried sharing the service?

@ waeed, what do you think companies do, take a separate internet connection for every employees pc?
Obviously it’s shared and you need a router or witch for that

Hello Every one.
I am using PTCL DSL Since almost 1 year. I find it much battar thn Wateen or link dot net. I ave also experienced OPENSKY sattelite system but infact PTCL is much battar thn all i have experienced.
Now from 2 Days there Entertainment Portal service is totally down…..
When I asked about that, they said that this is due to update process.
It was a nice joke. 4 days passed and there service is still not be corrected.
But as if we are talking about downloading and uploading, they are doing well.
So overall we can say ptcl is a good service.
And I hope mobilink infinity WiMax will be big boost in market…

PTCL announced double bandwidth on 23rd March,its been a month now but still my internet connection is not doubled.
PTCL entertainment is fail, when you can download/watch unlimited content on internet, why would anyone go to the PTCL CRAP CORNER, just like their all offices/exchanges and their nice hearted staff (Everyone knows how good ptcl staff actually is)

And My D.S.L Complain no (62) I have face many trouble.

it is totally wrong to say ptcl is bad or hving bad service
some probs solved by the common sence and some to queries
Q:many computer joint by (bay lan) or hubs switches
ans:you have the 1st conputer joint hub and gives it automatic ip and dns server
and other to gives static ip adress and dns server
dns e.g 203.12.167.256
give every computer different ip other wise may conflict the ip adresses
please keep distance shorter to the main connection if distance increase to use repeater to improve the bandwidth
its short and selective anws

zada distance ho tu repeater use kro yeh signal ko regernate krta hai

Dear officer Customer services
I am suffering from ptcl fever since 5th of october when i placed an order for Broadband and ptcl smart T.v. The installation was completed on 19 october from gulshan-e-iqbal exchange till that time i am waiting for uninterupted use of broad band and to see smart t.v. Your staff is unable to solve this techniqal problem, I think its better first u provide training to your techniqal staff who can resolve our problems then advertise your product. your service from 1218 is also pathetic and person can memorize the word INTIZAR FARMIYA and nothing else. It is my request to PTA and honourable information minister take necessary action to resolve the problems of consumers. When ptcl is failed to start a connection then they must not book an order.

I used ptcl service about 1 month….its not so good not so bad…..bas guzara hai and ptcl buzz to open hi nahi horaha…jitna time yeh advertisement mai spend karty hain itna time agar service behtar katny mai laga gain to bht bht achi hojaye inki service…
