... because Osama's definition of startup company is "a company that still hasn’t set up complete operations, i.e. isolated people handing sales, marketing, finance, support, maintenance, delivery, product management and more." and I assumed that amaana has all these things.. :)

Osama,

According to your definition of startup I think Bumpin, orgoo and workspace should be in the race. As you know, I haven't been able to develop fondness for Mulazammat (they've not given me a chance yet :)).

Pixsense, amaanaa, scrybe, confiz, uraan, weblo should be out - no offense to them :)

I don't think some of the nominations are up for the competition (may be the company owners can comment, I was just trying to see each one of them..):

> peanut labs/xuqa - this seems to have already outgrown startup stuff. Seems to have quite a lot of press and is way out of league of other companies on the list.

> iRecord seems to be a product and not quite sure if the company qualifies as a startup.

> helphee - the page is dead for months and confiz seems to be doing well as a company so may be not really a startup.

> Perimeterlogics - this seems to be a project by uraan software, the company again seems to be doing good (i believe they have around 50+ employees) so not sure if they qualify as a 'startup' per se either..

My choice would be Scrybe , weblo and amaana.

Green&White's CDF could also be in the race (primarily because of Green&White, as I don't know about CDFs other offerings).

Just my 2 cents :)

Hmm I suppose we could have added Scrybe and Pixsense on this too.

The general motivation for this is to highlight young companies that could benefit from such exposure.

Scrybe and Pixsense dont need the exposure - they're also funded now so that means they're moving out of startup mode into a professional company.

My personal definition of 'startup' is a company that still hasn't set up complete operations, i.e. isolated people handing sales, marketing, finance, support, maintenance, delivery, product management and more.

(1) Amaana
(2) PakTranslations
(3) Lootmaar

I would've voted for Scrybe at #1 had it been in the list. So Osama, why exactly is it missing? :S

amaana is working on an important problem but they've taken ages and they're still not out of beta.

With the news of MulazamatTV's acquisition today they're certainly going to have a big edge. But now they're no more startup :P

My votes are

1) MulazamatTV
2) BumpIn
3) Orgoo
