PSEB launches an IT job board in partnership with Brightspyre
Editor’s Update: PSEB launched this job board just a few days ago in a conference in Karachi. Details are below.
The Job board is specifically for the IT sector and is located here:
This was designed and built in partnership with Brightspyre (their official announcement here) and from Brightspyre’s announcement, it seems like their new engine (used in Personforce) is running this job board.
This is a big win for Brightspyre because PSEB is naturally a very high-traffic website particularly for overseas Pakistanis itching to come back from abroad.
Kudos and good luck.

There was this news item i was reading though the heading was some thing else the paragrach which really caught my eyes and attention was the following one, link for the article is here
The PSEB managing director informed the media that the Board was launching the PSEB IT Job Board Portal for the Pakistani industry and said that talent acquisition was the first step in talent management. In that connection, he said, the PSEB and Brightspyre had joined hands to help the IT industry by upgrading their talent acquisition to international standards, besides providing help to foreign investors in acquiring talent pool from Pakistan.
The level of engagement and collaboration PSEB and Brightspyre are having is not clear from the news item maybe some one from brightspyre might be able to comment on it.
Any way the good news i can built from this is that PSEB is waking up to the needs of industry even if a little late. this shows that some one in the PSEB ranks is thinking on lines of facilitating the s/w industry and building the talent pool for the companies to hire from. Until now the only skill development that has been undertaken by the government is on the scholarships side and by pumping in money in the academia, we are yet to see any significant results from these steps. There has also been the CEO forum organized by PSEB about which i will write later.
How effective will this job portal be is still any ones guess, with this space already crowded specially more in couple of years, PSEB has a job cut out for them. But with the amount of money they have with them they can make it happen.
So all in all my assesment is that this is a step in the right direction. We all have our fingers crossed.

The PSEB job board suffers from the same quality issues that plague the main BrightSpyre portal. I wish they would improve their interface, especially if PSEB’s job portal is viewed by foreign employers with higher quality standards as their first impression of the Pakistani workforce!
