What do we want?
Recently this has come up a lot in my conversations, presentations at P@SHA and even in my comments.
This post is to answer some of the question thrown at me regularly. this equally applies to other blogs who are doing a fantastic job of guiding industry professionals/graduates and students
Who are we? People think that we are employed by an organization Green & White and its our duty to guide them. believe me this is not the case. we are employees of other organizations or owners in some cases and work on this from our personal time, some of us have to sacrifice our sleeps others steal some of the family time, just to be able to write a meaning full article, which we think might change if not many atleast a few peoples attitude. This is the reason we are not available full time as this is not our primary job.
Why do we do it? We don’t need it, most of the writers here and on other blogs who have been writing to guide and stir your souls are well set in their career. Most of them are either earning or making good money. Then are they half mad to waste time? in a way yes we are half crazy, we want to return some thing back what this country has given us, we are trying to guide the younger generations so after same amount of time they are standing at a higher/better place. they should not learn the hard way we have learned they should learn from our mistakes and take this industry and nation one step ahead.
What do we want to get out of all this? We want you to succeed, we want you to go places we have never been we want you to touch the highs we could not because there was no one to guide us when we started. We want you to learn from our mistakes and don’t just read it appreciate and repeat the same mistake.
We are saying “Hey avoid that road, it leads to a dead end… I have traveled there and had to come back and it wasted precious years of my career ” but my question to every one who is reading these blogs is:
ARE YOU LISTENING?

Personally I think that the team at Green&White is fulfilling a great need. There are so many gaps within our industry that need to be filled – a change in mindset is required on the part of companies and individuals, a lack of professionalism affects the performance of people and hence companies. We can learn from each other. There is so much to contribute to the growth of this sector.
I was so delighted when I heard of the existence of Green&White. The authors put in a lot of personal time into this effort. The rest of us are trying to share our experiences and our thoughts. We may not always agree with each other but we listen to each other, we weigh the thoughts expressed and we respect each other’s point of view. It is through sharing of experiences, through discourse and debate that we will move to a higher level.
Thank you Osama, Qazi, Fahad and all the people at G&W whom I don’t know for providing all of us a space. Thank you for spending so much of your valuable time trying to counsel and educate the young. I am sure most of them are appreciative of your efforts. You have many of us ready and willing to help when we can. I too am often asked why I do what I do, why I put in personal time and what it is I am trying to achieve. As long as you are aware of your mission, of your goals and your overall objective, just follow your heart. The rest will take care of itself. Good luck!

I had an Urdu teacher in class 10th, Mrs Khan (BVS) who had a huge impact on my thinking and upbringing. She used to say that when we go in front of God, the first thing He will ask us is, I gave you the ability to be special, I could have given it to someone else, what did you do with it? And if we could look at our lives and say, I used it to it’s fullest potential, I was worthy, we will be free to move on…
All I want is for you (the reader) to be worthy of who you can be (not who you are).
