What a nice and fresh idea! Eric Hill describes the need that everyone should not only create strategic business plans for their companies, but also for their personal career.

The best part is that he says we should all have a Board of Directors for our lives — people who are conciously working to ensure that we are successful in our careers.

This makes sense — most people have accountants, lawyers, bankers, and family who is typically doing that role anyway, in deciding mutually about major decisions.

It might be nice to even be able to this strategic ROI analysis for each decision in our life. Ofcourse, with so little time anyway, we might have to hire business analysts, writers, secretaries etc just to manage our life. Boy.

Thanks for the link. I think you’re right about the huge amount of work involved. But what is our own personal career worth to us? There are a lot of smart people out there analyzing data, making decisions, and hence, making money for their employers. Short of starting your own business, we should be doing all of this for ourselves first.
