As the name suggests, PhotoPrints.pk is a photo sharing site. In fact, it’s more than a photo sharing portal. The site basically caters to overseas Pakistanis who want to share their pictures with their near and dear ones in the country.
PhotoPrints.pk has provided them with a platform where they can upload their snapshots and get them delivered to their relatives in printed form, the very next day. The standard 4 x 6 size photo print costs just 19ยข while the shipping charges are $1.49 for up to 50 photos. The prints are delivered through courier services.
The service can be a good one for those NRPs (Non-resident Pakistanis) whose relatives live in villages and small towns (and so many NRPs actually hail from such locations) as Internet and printing facilities are not readily available in these areas. But we have to keep one thing in mind; courier services don’t work in rural areas. The venture has a solution for that. In such cases, they use Pakistan Post’s registered delivery service which can take up to one week to reach its destination. Isn’t it almost the same time when the folks can get the photos via a direct international parcel? They can offer subsidized rates to compensate for this delay.
Also what about video sharing? There is a possibility that the subscribers can add their personal videos which can later be transmitted on CDs or VHS and can be delivered to their folks. That’s a nice idea as so many people want to share their moments with their close ones but don’t find any way of doing that- especially in areas still afar from the information highway.

what about the privacy? If i upload my pics on this site and ask them to print and deliver.. our country has a population (even living outside of pakistan) that likes their privacy.. who knows what is happening with those pictures?
btw the idea is good just wondering if it can be improved a bit more…
