Well this was a surprise - the citizen journalism site SeeNReport that I raved about a few days ago turns out to be a joint venture between Dr. Umar Saif (from BumpIn fame) and Sharjeel Qureshi, Adil Salim and Yasir Awan (from 2’s Complement fame).

Interesting collaboration, and interesting project, but now that the long-march is over lets see how they get people to continue reporting.

Osama I can’t understand how you don’t approve vibes.pk and approve seeNreport ?? I actually think vibes.pk has more scope then seeNreport. I do not have time to dig all news about Pakistan so I would prefer if some one can just show me the top digs from all over the globe in one place. And at end it does not matter how long does it take to create a thing. How long would it take me to write seeNreport ? A day or two at most I guess.

    Obi,

I didn’t think Vibe had any news on it yet that I cant find on the front page of Dawn or somewhere else.

I liked SeeNreport because they HAVE done a good job getting content that I wouldn’t have been able to find anywhere else via citizens… even if it was the founders sending pics to the service, they’ve collected a lot of good pics.

Now Vibe has potential but not for political or current-affairs news.

SeeNreport HAS fulfilled its purpose for the time being but we’ll need to see if it was just a one-time thing.
