IdeasHut is a blog where anyone can submit a startup idea and get feedback on it. The thought process seems to be that by getting the community involved, there is a greater chance of finding partners, guesstimating demand, or getting early feedback of competitors.
So far there are some interesting suggestions by community members, such as a cellphone tower auctioning platform that gives everyone a place to offer their property up for rent to cell companies.
The concept of IdeasHut is fair, but the thing to remember here is that ideas are more or less worthless to startups - the value-model is important.
Lets say you write “A site which offers people cheaper air tickets and also gives them relevant travel guides next to it” …. that’s a worthless idea, its been done to death already. But you could still be a millionaire provided you’re able to make the right partnerships or have an incredibly innovative way of reducing ticket costs.
The problem is people wont like to share their secret value-model on a public site like this.
This site just tends to the question “What do we call a startup anyway?” If its something semi-cool with limited novelty value but no business model, then ideas hut is great. If a startup is a serious attempt to make money from an untapped market, then this site isnt useful.

Thanks Osama for reviewing Ideas Hut. The main objective of Ideas Hut is to bring in front all those ideas that otherwise evaporate after coffee shop conversations or become part of the blog archives. Here we plan to discuss each and every idea no matter how idiosyncratic it may seem because there might be someone who could see the hidden potential in it.
Here I’d like to clarify that Ideas Hut is not just for ‘entrepreneurs’ but it is for everyone. If you feel you have got some idea that could be worked upon or if you are looking for some service but it doesn’t exist and you yourself don’t have the time and/or resources to create one then you can post about it on this forum and there might be someone who could implement it. This ’someone’ includes anyone who has the passion and expertise to execute the selected idea…be it freelancers or college/university students who are looking for ideas that they can work on as their final year projects. These people can later on enhance these projects to build a start up around them and while doing that discussions about the value-model can always be taken offline.

World is full of ideas. Execution is missing. So I think Execution Hut would be better.
