Some people are thinkers, others are do-ers.
Rehan Allah Walla and the Super Technologies team are certainly do-ers.
Their remarkable group have come up with a delightfully simple way of implementing wifi hotspots across Karachi. They’re simply asking advertisers to group-sponsor 100 wireless hotspots and using that money to expand the Baytaar network.
Brilliant, I say. When do we get to see this expanding in Islamabad? I can point you to a few coffee-spots that need wifi here.

Hi Guys, Sorry for the DB error.
ANY CITY can get Baytaar as long as you can get me 5+ sponsors for it.
Each Sponsor has to pay 5000$ a month or 60000$ a year for 100 Hot Spot’s anywhere in their city where DSL or Cable Internet is available.
They get free ad space on the wall’s and on the browser while the user is using the internet.

This is absolutely wonderful idea.
As i see, this will again bring out TV and Internet stricken people into parks and coffee shops. Instead of chatting and browsing in the dark corners of apartments, people would come out and have some fresh oxygen along side free internet.

The idea is great but i think 5000$ per month will be too much for a single Sponsor.
A better option could be Sponsor 1 Hotspot for 100$ per month only.
100 hotspots = 10,000$ ( double revenue )
With so low sponsoring option 6400 rs only i think every tom dick and harry would want to sponsor it.

Sami’s comment makes sense, if we are get that much sponsors per city
anyway, like Osama said, they are the doers
Good job

Idea is good but I don’t think any body will use it in parks or public places due to theft. Look at our country situation especially Karachi where thieves doesn’t spare a Rs.1000 mobile phone and you are talking about a laptop here.
How many of you will go to let’s say Hill Park or Aziz Bhatti Park or Safari Park with your laptop?
But in a closed environment yes this will work.
