These are historic moments — the rise and empowerment of independent minds, of the people who give leaders their strengths is interesting enough to see.

Even better is to see the strength of our “internet connected communities” finally put on the forefront around the world. This validation and attention will be long remembered.

BusinessWeek just nailed the issue as clearly and precisely as possible in an article called “Virtual Protests in Pakistan”. Some of key things mentioned are the protests at LUMS and FAST, and communication over blogs, cellphones, wikis and Facebook, YouTube and websites, and freely links to popular Pakistani blogs covering the affairs.

Amazing read, and amazing to see these activities around us irrespective of which side of the issue you stand on.

What would be even more fascinating is if people started organizing virtual demonstrations in Second Life. Similar to the IBM protests in SL, lets see what the netizens do next.
