I would quote an example here, China Mobile has just taken a fresh start here in Pakistan, after taking over paktel. What do u think would be the best product/marketing strategy for china mobile in a country like Pakistan, which is already saturated, and every single network is offering pretty much the same services. Moreover with the recent implementation of MNP, don't you think it was a very wrong time for China Mobile to enter Pakistan's telecom market. Can china mobile afford to follow edge-centric techniques??

From whatever I have read about edge-centric marketing, I get the idea that basically edge-centric marketing is about marketing to the extreme edges. In other words, marketing to a relatively smaller proportion of the market. My question is, that if edge-centric marketing is the current rising trend, what exactly are the prospects of this trend. For a product, that does not require huge capital investment, edge-centric marketing does make sense. But what about hi-fi products, like this Mobilink PCO, which does require a fair amount of investment. Don't you think it gets harder for a manufacturer who just enters a market to follow edge centric marketing techniques.
